Stucco damage can be caused by a number of issues. For example, a chunk of stucco gets knocked off by a car backing up. Sometimes, though, the damage can be a sign of some underlying more serious cause, such as water intrusion. A defect in construction due to shoddy workmanship or improper installation can also be a source of a problem. With a repair, you are fixing the damage, but not necessarily the underlying defect or cause. This is like treating symptoms of illness rather than curing the disease. Exterior Stucco Damage

Though stucco is durable, it is not impervious to time, weather, and aging. We often find customers who come to us to repair a crack or replace a chunk of missing stucco damaged from a wayward object. Sometimes we get owners whose homes or commercial properties are literally deteriorating. Depending on the extent of the damage or deterioration, we will repair
or renovate.

Also, something called a weep screed is an important piece of your stucco siding. The purpose of a stucco weep screed is to direct any moisture that the stucco has absorbed away from the baseline of the siding. It wicks moisture away from the plate line, where the concrete foundation of the building begins. The concrete foundation is more durable than the stucco siding, so the weep screed will typically hang down below about one or two inches, in order to direct moisture away avoid any damage.

When the weep screed is old, deteriorated, or otherwise compromised, you may notice damage to the stucco and repairs will be needed. Again, if the damage is extensive, a simple repair may not be enough and you will want a stucco renovation.

INTERIOR STUCCO REPAIR

Like exterior stucco, we will do an assessment to determine why your interior stucco is damaged. If there is a serious underlying cause like a water leak or intrusion, we can identify it and suggest solutions.
